CHIROPRACTIC
What is CHIROPRACTIC?
Chiropractic is a preventative, natural healthcare profession that focuses on treating the root causes of health problems, not just the symptoms. More than 25 million people seek regular chiropractic care every year, making it the largest holistic healthcare option in the world.
The root cause of most health problems, diagnoses, pain and symptoms lies in the nervous system – the brain, spinal cord and nerves. The nervous system controls all the body’s functions – we live our lives through our nervous system! Blockages in this system prevent the body from adapting to physical, chemical and emotional stresses. In chiropractic, this is known as vertebral subluxation. If left uncorrected, these tensions build up over time and lead to poor health and quality of life. Chiropractic adjustment eliminates the neurological stresses that prevent us from enjoying optimal health. Once eliminated, the nervous system can adapt and natural healing can begin at the root.
Benefits of Chiropractic
Many people suffer from headaches, which can be caused by a variety of factors. Studies have shown that chiropractic care has helped many people to reduce the intensity, duration and frequency of headaches.
Accidents, whiplash and poor posture at work are some of the most common factors that begin to affect the shoulders and neck. Chiropractic can relieve this discomfort.
Back pain can be very uncomfortable and prevent you from leading a normal life. Chiropractic can help relieve back pain and other conditions such as scoliosis or herniated discs.
Pain in the lower back, the lumbar region, is very common and is one of the main reasons why patients consult a chiropractor. Poor posture, sitting in the same position for many hours, causes pain in the lower back. Chiropractic can help relieve back pain and correct body posture.
Joint pain can prevent you from leading a normal daily life and is one of the main reasons for consulting a chiropractor. Studies show that chiropractic can help treat osteoarthritis and other types of joint problems.
Chiropractic can help you treat a wide range of conditions such as fibromyalgia, sleep disorders or conditions that don’t seem to be related to your body, such as stress and anxiety.
SUBLUXATION
In our daily lives, we are confronted with different types of stressors, such as stress at work, poor posture, trauma or falls, sports injuries or even major emotional and mental stressors.
When the body cannot adapt to stress, there can be a blockage or interference in the nervous system, which we call a vertebral subluxation.
Over time, subluxations reduce our body’s ability to function properly.
In this diminished state of health, energy is blocked, our vital force is reduced, the ability to resist illness is diminished, as is the ability to adapt to the stresses of everyday life.
It is very common to have vertebral subluxations without realising it, as they often appear (especially in the early stages) asymptomatically. Regular chiropractic check-ups are therefore recommended to maintain the health of the spine and nervous system and prevent future problems.
Chiropractors are specifically trained to detect, analyse and correct vertebral subluxations so that your body functions optimally and can adapt as well as possible to the stresses of your daily life.

THE HEALTH TRIANGLE
Dr D.D. Palmer, who pioneered chiropractic in 1895, defined repeated trauma or microtrauma to any of the three systems that govern our bodies: structure, biochemistry and psyche, as causes of disease (dis-ease). These three factors must be balanced to achieve optimal health (“health triangle”). Interference at any one of these three levels inevitably has repercussions on the others. Thus, the psychological and metabolic aspects also benefit from the correction of a structural disorder.
